This is the second time I've made this recipe.
To say this is AMAZING is an understatement.
Today the decision to make this was pretty spontaneous.
Do you ever have those days where you're just craving sweets like crazy?
Today, is one of those days for me!
I don't usually feel it so strong but boy do I today.
The kids had a snow day today and my son has had a friend over.
We've been outside working on snow forts, sledding, building snowmen and snow angels.
Did you notice I said we?
That's right, I was out there with the boys playing in the snow in my adult snowsuit. It's a great way to get activity points, be present with people you care about and have a lot of fun!
After all that snow play I was ready to come in and cook up some comfort food.
The only changes I made this go round are that I omitted the nuts altogether and I used mostly regular graham crackers(3 oz) for the crust because I only had 1 oz of chocolate wafer cookies.
I also used a few extra marshmallows since I didn't use the nuts.
Our friend has a peanut allergy and being the overly cautious person I am I just wanted to avoid all nuts.
When I make this for myself I like using pecans because I'm crazy about them.
I'll also tell you that the first time I made them I did use all chocolate wafer cookies for them and it was delicious.
Those chocolate wafer cookies can be hard to find. My WW buddy, Carol, helped me find them at our locally owned grocer however if you can't find them keep in mind that most stores nowadays are willing to order in items like this.
You can find the recipe here or you can use your mobile WW app to look it up.
One word of caution~ This makes 16 servings so these portion sizes are quite small!
This is a total of 6 points per serving.
If you're like me it's pretty hard to have something this delicious in the house and not overeat on it.
So making it today when we have company was something I did intentionally.
It feels good to share with others and the more there are to share with the less there is left over to tempt me.
It's a good thing.
Bottom line- if you're like me and you easily overeat on things that are in a pan like this such as casseroles, cakes, brownies etc then quickly cut them into the proper portions(for this recipe they do have to cool in the fridge first) when they get out and then put the rest away or give them away.
These have that combination of salty and sweet which I absolutely love.
Do you see the gooey goodness?! |
So have some friends and/or family over and enjoy this decadent dessert.
Happy Cooking!
